The Chinese University of Hong Kong Library has participated in the LibQUAL+ survey since 2007.  LibQUAL+ is a survey developed by the Association of Research Libraries (ARL) to measure library service quality and identify best practices internationally.  The Library conducted the survey from 3 – 23 November 2014.  Over 6,600 students and staff completed the survey and nearly half of the respondents provided written comments.  The Library would like to thank all participants who took time to complete the survey.

2. Remembering the Breeze: Hong Kong in the 50s and 60s from the Ng Ho Collection

To pay our tribute to the late Mr. Ng Ho who made significant contributions to the development of and research on Hong Kong culture, and with his wife's, Mrs. Ng Wong Kar Wai, full support, an exhibition of "Remembering the Breeze: Hong Kong in the 50s and 60s from the Ng Ho Collection" will be held from 27 March to 30 September this year.

Items on display include valuable materials collected by Mr. Ng in the past decades, such as popular readings and materials from daily life.  The exhibition presents Hong Kong ordinary people's life in the 50s and 60s.  We hope that through this exhibition, the CUHK community and the public's interest in and promotion of the knowledge, development and preservation of local culture will be further aroused.

8. Learning Garden Event: Subject Talk Series on Values and Authentic Life - Falling Upwards

Ancient Greek philosopher Epicurus held that Pleasure and Pain were the two masters in human life.  People make every effort to approach the friendly master of pleasure and avoid the harsh master of pain.  In reality, however, people experience more pain than pleasure.  Co-organized with the Society of Life and Death Education, this subject talk series, Falling Upwards, attempts to explain the sources of pain and help us transcend it to true happiness.
