1. Hong Kong Academic Library Link (HKALL)

Through Hong Kong Academic Library Link (HKALL), a joint project of the eight UGC libraries, CUHK staff, postgraduate and undergraduate students may request circulating items of the other seven UGC libraries, and have these items delivered to the University Library for checking out.

2. RefWorks: Campus-wide Bibliographic Management Tool

3. Discussion Zone at the University Library

To facilitate collective learning among students, a new "Discussion Zone" which can accommodate up to 40 users has been set up on G/F University Library since September 2005.  No booking is needed for its use.  Groups are required to maintain a reasonable noise level to avoid disturbing other users.

4. Book Exhibition on Ba Jin

Ba Jin, the famous writer in modern Chinese literature, passed away on October 17, 2005 in Shanghai at the age of 100.  In order to celebrate the contributions made by Ba Jin to the modern literary movement in China, the University Library holds an exhibition of Ba Jin's works and associated commentaries of his writings from October 25 to November 27, 2005.

5. Chinese Version of Library Web Site

Effective September 2005, Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese versions of the Library Web Site have been added. Users can switch between English, Traditional and Simplified Chinese at more than a thousand web pages.

6. Online Alumni Data Form for Application for Alumni Library Services on the Web

Starting November 1, 2005, alumni who want to apply for the Alumni Library Card or the Digital Library Service for Alumni no longer need to come in person to the Library or obtaining the application form via downloading or fax.  The Alumni Data Form at http://www.alumni.cuhk.edu.hk/eng/contact/dataform.html is now available for alumni to apply for these services online anywhere and anytime.

7. DLSA Easy Access

The Library, in association with the Alumni Affairs Office, are pleased to announce the DLSA Easy Access, an alternative for remote access of Digital Library Service for Alumni subscribed databases, has been launched on November 1, 2005.
