1. A Chinese Literary Book Corner

Two distinguished authors, Li Yiyun and Yang Hengjun, discuss writing about China.  Hear them talking about their writings and reading from their works.  Followed by an informal Q&A session and book signings.

2. Information Literacy Courses for CUHK Students: March - June 2008

The University Library will offer intensive courses from March to June 2008 to assist students in preparing for the Information Literacy Section of the Student IT Proficiency Test.  The course provides not only an overview of the Web-based Information Literacy Tutorial, but also includes exercises and practices in (1) formulating search strategies, (2) finding information using the Library Catalogue, research databases and the Internet, and (3) evaluating information sources.

3. Increase of Free Interlibrary Loan Quota for Article Requests

Effective March 1, 2008, the free quota for article requests will be extended to eligible users as follows.  The quota may be used to obtain articles or book chapters from CUHK and local libraries, as well as from overseas libraries with reciprocal agreements.  When the quota is used up, the Library will email and seek advice from you for further actions.  The cost per extra article request will be HK$10.

5. Library Survey 2007 -- Prize Presentation Ceremony

The Library would like to thank all participants who took their time to complete the survey.  As a token of thanks, an iPod nano, USB flash drives and book coupons were given out as incentive prizes in a lucky draw.  Prizes were presented by the University Librarian on January 17, 2008 at the University Library.
