1. "World-renowned Botanist Professor Shiu-Ying Hu 's Contributions to Plant Taxonomy" Exhibition

In recognition of the outstanding contributions of Professor Shiu-ying Hu in plant taxonomy for over 70 years as well as to promote the knowledge of and interest in plant taxonomy and Chinese medicinal herbs in Hong Kong, the Library has organized an exhibition from now to March 26, 2006.  Exhibits include Professor Hu's publications, research materials, specimens, letters, manuscripts and photos.

2. WebBridge: A New Feature of the CUHK Library Catalogue

WebBridge is a tool that enables you to transfer a search query done on the Library Catalogue to some of the electronic resources.  It facilitates:

  • locating required journal articles from available databases
  • checking if other libraries hold that specific item (book, journal, etc.)
  • looking up an online dictionary and/or reference works for related information
  • obtaining free internet resources relevant to your information needs

3. NetLibrary eBook Collection Enriched

The Library is pleased to announce the addition of over 41,000 titles to its NetLibrary eBook Collection.  With its 3,400 publicly-accessible titles, the Collection now has more than 45,000 titles available to library users with a computer connected to the Internet, anywhere and round-the-clock.

4. Exhibition of Recently Donated Alumni Publications

In line with the Alumni Affairs Office's annual event, the "2006 Homecoming", and the recent appeal for donations of our alumni's academic and non-academic publications to the Library, the University Library is holding an exhibition of all these recently donated publications in March, 2006.  The exhibition aims to share with our readers the research work, writing interests and life of our alumni.
