1. 360 Search (Phase 1) - One Search, Find All

The Library is pleased to announce the launch of 360 Search, which is a brand new platform for searching more than 100 E-Resources simultaneously.

2. New Online Form for Requesting Inter-Branch Book Delivery

Starting from April 14, 2009, CUHK staff and students may request online to transfer books between the Li Ping Medical Library at the Prince of Wales Hospital and the campus libraries; and also from the Lee Quo Wei Law Library to the Legal Resources Centre in Central.

3. Library Summer Certificate Course 2009

The University Library is pleased to offer a series of workshops on information literacy skills in May 2009.  After attending any 3 sessions, you will be awarded a certificate issued by the Library.

4. A Gentle Reminder - Returning Books and Paying Fines

For graduating students and leaving staff: please be reminded to return all your borrowed library items and clear all outstanding fines, if any, before you leave the University.  Your record may be sent to the University authorities if there is any unreturned library item and/or outstanding fines.

For other library users: please be reminded to return any overdue library item(s) you have and pay the accrued fines.  If you do not return the overdue item(s), your Library borrowing privileges may be suspended.  For more information, please see the Library Regulation on "Loss of Privileges" for overdue books and payments of charges.

5. Collection Moves at the University Library

The University Library (UL) will embark on a "move and merge" project over the summer break to temporarily ease the space problem of the book stacks.  The project is also intended to better facilitate the retrieval of library materials by merging all UL bound periodicals (except A class) to the LG/F of UL; and the D class circulating books (currently divided and housed at two separate floors) to the 2/F of UL.

6. Renovation Works of the Rare Book Room and the 2/F Compact Shelving Area at the University Library

The Rare Book Room and the 2/F compact shelving area at the University Library (UL) will be temporarily closed from May 12 to August 16, 2009 for renovation works.  Please ask at the Circulation Counter at the G/F of UL if you need to retrieve library materials from the 2/F compact shelving area.

7. The Art of Translation - Julia Lovell and Zhu Wen

The seminar "The Art of Translation – Julia Lovell and Zhu Wen" organized by the MAN Hong Kong International Literary Festival 2009 was held at the Chung Chi College Library on March 13, 2009.  More than 60 people joined this successful event.
