1. From the Treasure House: Jewels from the Library of The Chinese University of Hong Kong

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of The Chinese University of Hong Kong and the decades of successful development of collections in the library, the University Library System is mounting a joint exhibition "From the Treasure House: Jewels from the Library of The Chinese University of Hong Kong" with the Art Museum on the valuable Chinese and English materials the library has assembled over the years.

2. Hong Kong Literary Field Trips Project Awarded the Frist Prize

Jointly organized by the Hong Kong Literature Research Centre and the University Library System of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and the Chinese Language Education Section, Curriculum Development Institute, Education Bureau of the Hong Kong SAR Government, the Hong Kong Literary Field Trips Project was awarded the First Prize in a reading promotion campaign held by the Library Society of China in 2012.

3. A New Space for Research and Scholarly Activities – The Research Commons!

The Research Commons on the first floor of the University Library is an area innovatively designed and specifically zoned into a variety of technology-rich spaces with built-in flexibility; providing a suite of resources, facilities and professional librarian help targeted to meet new and changing needs of postgraduate students, researchers and faculty at any point in the research process.  These needs are emerging with the growth of interdisciplinary studies, collaborative research and digital scholarship.  It is the basis for the next generation library services.

5. Book Exhibition on Mo Yan

A book exhibition on Mo Yan, Nobel Laureate in Literature in 2012, is being held at the New Asia College Ch'ien Mu Library of The Chinese University of Hong Kong from November 19, 2012 to January 31, 2013.  Highlights of the exhibits include autographed copies and critical editions of his major works.  Special issues of literary journals and newspaper supplements on Mo Yan are displayed.

9. Chung Chi College Elisabeth Luce Moore Library and the New Asia College Ch'ien Mu Library Extended Opening Hours during the Revision and Examination Period

Chung Chi College Elisabeth Luce Moore Library (CCL) and the New Asia College Ch'ien Mu Library (NAL) extended their opening hours up to 2 a.m. daily during the revision and examination period from December 3, 2012 to January 4, 2013.  Also, CCL and NAL opened at 9 a.m. on Sunday during the above period.
