Library Orientation 2005 |
|
Library Orientation Sessions for new students will be held from September 5 to 13, 2005 in the University Library. Five sessions will be held on every weekday:
9:25 a.m. - 10:15 a.m. 11:25 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. 2:25 p.m. - 3:15 p.m. 3:25 p.m. - 4:15 p.m. 5:25 p.m. - 6:15 p.m.

Launching of "Easy Access" |
|
Starting from September 1, 2005, current CUHK students, faculty and staff, who are off CUHK campus, may use their Library Card Number and Library Password to login "Easy Access" and access Library subscribed web-based e-resources without any configuration on user's part. Besides Easy Access, users may continue to use VPN, dial-up or Library Proxy for remote access.

Library Information Literacy Certificate Course : September - November 2005 |
|
After attending any five courses on information literacy skills, participants will be granted a certificate by the Library. Students, in group of ten or more, can request library courses to suit their information needs and schedule. For detailed information, please contact the staff at the Reference Counter.

Exhibition of Donations of Mrs. Liu Yat-yuen |
|
The University Library System is always deeply grateful to any organization or person who gives books or other materials to the Library. Mrs. Liu Yat-yuen and her family have generously donated more than 700 pieces of the late Mr. Liu's valuable collection to the University Library over the last year. Mr. Liu was a famous journalist, writer and film producer. The donation includes books, periodicals, photos, personal belongings, souvenirs, Chinese paintings and calligraphies signed to Mr. Liu by renowned Modern Chinese artists, such as He Xiangning, Mao Dun, Mai Huasan, Zhang Zhengyu, Huang Yongyu, Huang Zhou and Pujie.

Film Screening of "Typhoon Signal No. 10" |
|
To accompany "An Exhibition of Donations of Mrs. Liu Yat-yuen" and to let our staff, students and the public know more about Mr. Liu's contribution to Hong Kong film industry and culture, "Typhoon Signal No. 10" will be shown on September 28, 2005, Wednesday, at 7:00 pm at User Education Room 1, University Library.

Extending Access to the Li Ping Medical Library to the Staff of the New Territories East Cluster of the Hospital Authority |
|
From September 2005 onwards, the Li Ping Medical Library will offer physical access and some library services to the staff of the New Territories East Cluster of the Hospital Authority. The cluster consists of seven hospitals in the region, namely, the Prince of Wales Hospital, Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital, Bradbury Hospice, Cheshire Home, Shatin, North District Hospital, Shatin Hospital and Tai Po Hospital.
