2. Launching of "Easy Access"

Starting from September 1, 2005, current CUHK students, faculty and staff, who are off CUHK campus, may use their Library Card Number and Library Password to login "Easy Access" and access Library subscribed web-based e-resources without any configuration on user's part.  Besides Easy Access, users may continue to use VPN, dial-up or Library Proxy for remote access.

Easy Access requires no configuration on the user's PC or web browser.  The connection to Easy Access is identified by the special links to e-resources on the Library's web pages. If you have been accessing e-resources through the network on campus, including ResNet, ClassNet, and Wireless LAN, or off campus through VPN, dial-up or Library Proxy, Easy Access is transparent to you and you do not need to change anything.

If you are outside CUHK campus without using VPN, dial-up or Library Proxy, when you click on the Easy Access URL, you will be required to login with your Library Card Number and Library Password, and then be sent to the resource.

Digital Library Service for Alumni (DLSA) users can use the Easy Access in the next phase when it is available in October 2005.  More details will follow.

Please visit Library's webpage http://www.lib.cuhk.edu.hk/EasyAccess for more details on Easy Access.
