7. Extending Access to the Li Ping Medical Library to the Staff of the New Territories East Cluster of the Hospital Authority

From September 2005 onwards, the Li Ping Medical Library will offer physical access and some library services to the staff of the New Territories East Cluster of the Hospital Authority.  The cluster consists of seven hospitals in the region, namely, the Prince of Wales Hospital, Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital, Bradbury Hospice, Cheshire Home, Shatin, North District Hospital, Shatin Hospital and Tai Po Hospital.

The program will be divided into 2 stages.  The first stage will commence on September 1, 2005 for the staff of Prince of Wales Hospital.  It is believed that the project will take a step forward to strengthen the close ties not only with the Prince of Wales Hospital, which is teaching hospital of the Faculty of Medicine and at which the Medical Library is located, but also with other hospitals in the cluster where there are increasing education and research activities of the Faculty.
