Co-organized with Apple and the Independent Learning Centre, the Library is pleased to offer "Apple in Education Talk Series" and "Creative Writing Panel Discussion-Fact and Fiction: Creative Writing in English" at the Learning Garden respectively.

Apple in Education Talk Series

  1. Apple Education Technology Update
    Apple believes in a world in which all learners are empowered to discover their own special genius.  Apple provides a personalized learning environment that supports creativity, collaboration, innovation, and critical thinking as a means to transform the way teachers teach and the way students learn.

  2. Discovery Workshop for Mac Beginner
    Mac is an easy to use platform for teaching and learning.  This workshop will introduce the usage of the Mac and how one can use it creatively in learning includes project creation, multimedia reports and creative presentations.  Participants will have hands-on experience on using Mac.

  3. iWork in Mac and iPad Workshop
    iWork is a set of easy to use software for content creation.  This workshop will help participants to understand the basic features of a creative tool suite, i.e. Pages, Numbers and Keynotes.  Participants will have hands-on experience on using the software.

Creative Writing Panel Discussion - Fact and Fiction: Creative Writing in English

The Creative Writing Panel Discussion is co-organized by the Independent Learning Centre and University Library System.  This is an informal and intimate event which has been designed so that interested students and staff will have the opportunity to listen to short readings of selected published works, learn more about the creative writing process as well as ask questions directly of our expert panel of acclaimed local Creative Writers in English.

The Creative Writing Panel Discussion is meant to be relaxed, informal and "organic", so we hope that all of our participants will enjoy the opportunity to get together and share their common interests in English Writing/Reading, and Creative Expression.
