The Department of Translation and the University Library System held the inauguration ceremony of the 'Translation Archive of The Chinese University of Hong Kong' cum opening ceremony of 'The David Hawkes Papers: An Exhibition' at the New Asia College Ch'ien Mu Library on February 1, 2012.
Officiating guests included Mrs. Jean Hawkes; Prof. Joseph J. Y. Sung, Vice-Chancellor and President; Prof. Leung Yuen-sang, Dean of the Faculty of Arts; Prof. Chan Sin-wai, Chairman of the Department of Translation; Prof. John Minford, David Hawkes' Literary Executor and Professor, Department of Translation; and Dr. Colin Storey, University Librarian. The event was also one of the celebratory activities of the 40th Anniversary of the Department of Translation.
'David Hawkes' Papers: An Exhibition' held at New Asia College Ch'ien Mu Library was from 1 - 14 February, and will be held again from 2 - 20 May 2012.
