2. Information Literacy Courses for CUHK Students: May - June 2012

The Library will offer intensive courses from May to June 2012 to assist students in preparing for the Information Literacy Section of the Student IT Proficiency Test.  The course provides not only an overview of the Web-based Information Literacy Tutorial, but also includes exercises and practice tests in:

  1. Formulating effective search strategies;
  2. Finding information using the Library Catalogue, research databases and the Internet; and
  3. Evaluating information sources.
Four three-hour identical sessions are scheduled as follows:

Time:

    May 12 (Sat)9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
    May 19 (Sat)9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
    May 26 (Sat)9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
    Jun 2 (Sat)9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Venue: User Education Room 2, G/F University Library

Medium of Instruction: Cantonese, but will change to English when there is any student who does not know Cantonese.
