Library Workshops for September - November 2007 |
|
After attending any five courses on information search skills, participants will be granted a Library Information Literacy Certificate by the Library. Students, in groups of ten or more, can request library courses to suit their information needs and schedules. For detailed information, please contact the staff at the Reference Counter.

Subsidized Quota for Overseas Interlibrary Loan Requests |
|
Effective September 1, 2007, eligible users for interlibrary loan services will be granted a subsidized quota to request articles from overseas libraries. The quota starts in each academic year from August to July of next year. Within the quota limit, users only pay a flat fee of HK$60 per article request. When the quota is used up, users will be informed and charged at the cost imposed by the lending library. The subsidized quota applies to regular article requests. The Library will decline requests which are too expensive. More details can be found at the Library web page.

Increase of maximum number of renewals |
|
To improve access to the Library collections, the Library is pleased to announce an increase in the maximum number of renewals allowed. Effective September 1, 2007, Library users can have three renewals during the loan period, an increase from two renewals under previous borrowing privileges. All loans will continue to be subject to recall.

Completion of the Refurbishment Works at the University Library |
|
The Library is pleased to announce the completion of the refurbishment works at the University Library. With the completion of the project, overall, the third and fourth floors become much improved places to study, with a new and spruced up look, better lighting and enhanced facilities. The upgraded library environment will help welcome new and returning users in the new academic year.
