1. Renovation Works in the University Library

Financed by UGC AA+I funding, the G/F and 1/F of the University Library is undergoing a phased renovation this summer.  Please visit the Library webpage for the latest progress of the renovation and the temporary arrangements for the services affected.

2. An Exhibition In Memory of Professor Shiu-ying Hu, Chung Chi College Administration Building Lobby Gallery and Elizabeth Luce Moore Library, October 2012

Jointly presented by The Chinese University of Hong Kong Chung Chi College and University Library System, the exhibition is in memory of and in recognition of Professor Hu's tremendous contributions to the promotion of botany and Chinese medicinal research.

3. An Ancient Qin of Ming Dynasty

The University Library System would like to express our deepest gratitude to Mr. Shum Hing Shun, Prof. James Watt, Mr. Sou Si-tai and Dr. Tse Chun Yan for their generous and kindly help in verifying the manufacturing date of an ancient qin donated by Professor Rulan Chao Pian.  They are very prominent qin musicians, experts, scholars and collector.  Also, we wish to thank Prof. Fok Tai Fai and Prof. Francis Chan for their great support in arranging and conducting the endoscopy for the qin

5. Western Languages and Literature, and the Linguistics Collections

This summer the Western Languages, Literature and Linguistics collections will be moved from the Chung Chi College Library to the University Library.  The current periodicals were moved in early May.  Library users are advised to check the library's catalogue for the location details of individual current periodicals.  Further information on the move of the collections will be posted on the library's website when it becomes available.

6. Architecture Library

This summer the Architecture Library will move to the new School of Architecture building.  To minimize the inconvenience to users the loan period for all books checked out by any user from the Architecture Library has been extended. The exceptions are reserve items, short-term loan items and books subject to recalls by other users.  The due-date will be September 10, 2012 or the expiry date of the CU Link/Library Card, whichever comes first.
