4. Database on History of Modern Chinese Thoughts (1830-1930)

The Database on History of Modern Chinese Thoughts (1830-1930) is now available for access in CUHK Libraries.

The Database, which consists of more than 100 million words, incorporates around 300 historical texts on the socio-political thoughts during the period of 1830 – 1930 in modern China.   Newspapers and magazines, written and translated works of Chinese officials and foreign visitors, historical diplomatic records as well as text books on western knowledge are included.  The Database can be searched by the title of historical text, keyword, author, and published year etc., and is available in both traditional and simplified Chinese version.  It is developed to facilitate researchers to search with ease in voluminous academic materials, and is a valuable reference for the study of the History of Modern Chinese Thought.
