7. Dialogues in the Arts

"Dialogues in the Arts" is held at the Learning Garden of the University Library.  It is jointly organised by the Independent Learning Centre, Hong Kong Literature Research Centre, Office of the Arts Administrator, Tolopoem, the University Library System and the Department of Chinese Language and Literature.

The first event in this series was held on February 1 at the Learning Garden.  Two famous writers, Ms. Cheung Yuen Man and Mr. Mak Chi Ho were invited to speak on the "Life and Death of Animals".  They discussed the following topics: "Animals seek for survival, but not death.  Even ants treasure life, let alone humans.  In reality, who's controlling the fate of animals?  How we harmonise between humans and animals reflects our values and respect of life".

Upcoming events at the Learning Garden are:

  1. Words Bring into Presence: Impressions from Interviews with Hong Kong Writers
    Speaker: Liao Weitong
    Date: March 8, 2013 (Friday)
