4. Library Workshops: March – April 2013

The University Library is pleased to offer the following workshops in March and April.  Students, in groups of ten or more, can also request library courses to suit their own information needs and schedules.

Program 1: Finding Scholarly Articles
Introduces simple and effective searching techniques to find academic journal articles and research reports in subject-specific databases.

March 14 (Thu) 2:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.
March 25 (Mon) 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

Program 2: Finding Theses and Dissertations
Demonstrates how to locate theses and dissertations submitted by students from universities in Hong Kong, China, North America, and the United Kingdom.

April 9 (Tue) 6:30 p.m. – 8:15 p.m.

Program 3: RefWorks - Your Reference and Citation Manager
Introduces RefWorks, a web-based bibliographic reference manager to your references with hands-on practice in generating in-text citations and formatted bibliography.

April 6 (Sat) 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Program 4: Electronic Resources for Job Hunting and Further Studies
Introduces and demonstrates related web resources and databases for users who aspire to enhance their career prospects or are contemplating further studies in Hong Kong and abroad.

Medium of Instruction: Cantonese, but will change to English when there is any student who does not understand Cantonese.
