Apus Nipalensis and the Library Logo |
The house swift has a strong association with the Library, with the eaves of University Library home to the largest colony in Hong Kong. Have a look at our Facebook page for some videos of the swifts' and their nests. Given this close connection, a swift was the obvious choice for a new Library logo, designed to stand out not just on paper but also on the screen. We have used the University purple colour and the design visually mimics a tradition Chinese seal, aiming to embody the University motto of linking tradition with modernity, and East with West.

Bring Design Concepts to Life – 3D Printing Services @ Learning Garden |
The Library is pleased to offer a trial run of 3D printing services, an emerging technology, in September at the Learning Garden for students, staff and faculty. 3D printing is a process of making a physical model, which helps users to rapidly build prototyping of their working models. We hope to inspire students to explore new interest in design and help them to bring their creations and design concepts to life.
