2. New Library Website is coming in Summer 2015

A new library web site will be launched this summer.  This is the outcome of ongoing consultation with our community users and implementation of the key ideas coming from the winning mobile apps in the Library Mobile Apps Challenge of the 5th International m-libraries Conference.  Here are the highlights of its main features:

  1. The new design represents rebranding of the Library that aims at maximizing user experience

  2. Mobile-responsive to optimize the screen display of desktop as well as mobile devices

  3. Real-time display of the availability of library services and facilities:
    • Today's opening hours - tell you instantly the opening hours of that day in all libraries; another view to show the daily, weekly and monthly opening hours at a glance
    • PC availability - for checking the availability of public PCs in all libraries

  4. Interactive floor plans that are integrated with Google Map to:
    • Display the locations of different libraries
    • Show the facilities you are looking for in an interactive manner

  5. Use of short videos and images to present content in a more vivid style
These are a few screen shots for your review.  Before its full launch in this summer, we would like to hear what you feel about the new library web site.  Please e-mail us: website2015@lib.cuhk.edu.hk.
