5. Renovation of the Medical Library

The Medical Library is going to expand to cope with the increasing number of students and Faculty members owing to the curriculum reform of 3+3+4 in 2012.

The renovation will take place in May 2011.  The whole library will be hoarded for renovation for about 4 months.  Therefore, on April 21, 2011, the Medical Library has moved to its temporary library located at Room 044105, 2/F, Clinical Sciences Building (at the same floor of the Medical Library).  Services have been resumed normal on April 22, 2011.

The temporary library will operate until the completion of the renovation in early September 2011.  Except the following, all library services remain normal:

  1. All the book collections are in closed stacks.  They can be retrieved upon request at the Circulation Counter.
  2. Only a small public area with 24 seats will be available.  A total of 21 out of 24 seats will be equipped with PCs.  The whole area is connected with Wi-Fi.
  3. New books will be continuously processed, but they will not be displayed.
  4. Reference books, special collections like theses, bound journals and some book collections will not be available temporarily.
