3. New Law Library to Support the School of Law

The University has established a new School of Law and the University Library is currently planning a new Law Library to support the legal information needs of students and faculty on the 4th Floor of the Tin Ka Ping building (TKP 4/F).  The Law Library is due for completion in the last week of August ready for the September semester.

Prescribed textbook on Law School reading lists have been relocated to UL reserve collection during the period of the renovations.  They are available for 3-day loan.  All online services remain normal for both on and off campus access.  When the Law Library is completed it will contain over 100 seats including 6 group study rooms.  There will also be an Information Commons and research area fitted out with 44 PCs and a separate information desk to service law related enquiries.

Whilst the Law Library is still in its development phase it will contain an extensive collection of specialised law materials in both print and electronic formats.  The collection will include a range of primary and secondary materials on Hong Kong, the UK, China and other major common law countries.
