2. Information Literacy Courses for CUHK Students: May - June 2007

The University Library is pleased to offer intensive courses from May to June 2007 to assist students in preparing for the Information Literacy Section of the Student IT Proficiency Test.  The course provides not only an overview of the Web-based Information Literacy Tutorial, but also includes exercises and practices in (1) formulating search strategies, (2) finding information using the Library Catalogue, research databases and the Internet, and (3) evaluating information sources.

Six three-hour identical sessions are scheduled as follows:

May 15 (Tue) 2:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.
May 21 (Mon) 6:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m
May 26 (Sat) 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
June 6 (Wed) 6:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.
June 16 (Sat) 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
June 23 (Sat) 2:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.

Venue: User Education Room 2, G/F University Library

Language: Cantonese, but will change to English when there is any student who does not know Cantonese.

Registration: Complete the Online Registration Form

Students are recommended to study the Web-based Information Literacy Tutorial before attending the course.
