10. Learning Garden: 3D Printers Exhibition @ Learning Path

The 3D Printers Exhibition @ Learning Path was successfully held on 23 July at the Learning Path of the Learning Garden, which aimed at promoting the use of 3D printing to bring design concepts to life.  Eight local suppliers as well as the Department of Mechanical and Automation Engineering (MAE) were invited to demonstrate their latest models of 3D printers on the S-table of the Learning Path.  Professor Charlie Wang from department of MAE also displayed a prototype of a resin 3D printer, namely a Fast 3D Printer, at the exhibition.  With more than 17 models of 3D printers displayed from desktop to professional level with live demonstrations, the exhibition attracted more than 200 people including students, staff, faculty as well as librarians from various institutions.

The Library also organized a sharing session on the 3D Printing Service @ Your Libraries and invited faculty and professional to share their projects about applying 3D printing in research and general education courses.  Professor Charlie Wang (Associate Professor, Department of MAE), Dr Patrio Chiu (Senior Education Development Officer, Office of Education Development and Gateway Education, CityU), and Chris Leung (Marketing Director, Dynamic Technologies Services Limited) were invited to speak at the sharing session.
