Program 1: Advanced Library Research Skills in Humanities and Social Sciences
This workshop provides advanced library research skills for postgraduate students in humanities and social sciences. Using the Library Catalogue and electronic resources, it will demonstrate how to (1) identify a research question and get started; (2) evaluate the relatedness of search results; (3) build one's own bibliographies for further readings; (4) apply the bibliographies in literature review and (5) use the collected materials to address research questions in paper/thesis writing.

Program 2: Creating Bibliography and Citations Using RefWorks
Demonstrates how to use RefWorks, a web-based bibliography management tool, to produce bibliographies and in-text references in a variety of citation styles (e.g. MLA, APA, Chicago, etc.).

Passport GMID is a global market information database and analysis tool containing comprehensive data and reports across all industries, countries and consumers. The Library is pleased to arrange with the vendor to provide a training session.
Topics covered:
- Introducing the different search methods
- Creating a personalized results table, how to analyze results and manipulate data
- Showing how to link to the various reports and browsing through the different kinds of reports
- Introducing "My Pages" and show the functions that can help users more effectively and efficiently
