Culture and Language Enhancement

Social English Workshop

The College organised three sessions of Social English Workshop on 3, 10 and 17 October 2017 to enhance students' English for different social occasions.

Ms Tessa STEWART, the facilitator, acquainted students with colloquial expressions and encouraged them to make communication more interactive. The workshop themes were 'Making First Contact', 'Building Friendship' and 'Travelling in Different Cultures'.

Toastmasters Club Taster Sessions

Three Toastmasters Club Taster Sessions were organised on 12, 19 and 26 October 2017, to encourage students to improve public speaking skills through prepared speeches, impromptu presentations and peer evaluation. Students have built lasting friendships in a mutually supportive environment. They enjoyed wine and cheese after the sessions with a hearty exchange in English.
