News: Young Scholars’ Forum in Chinese Studies 2023 Call for Paper Proposals – The Digital Turn and Chinese Studies: Data, Method and Meaning
Co-organised by Chiang Ching-kuo Foundation Asia-Pacific Centre for Chinese Studies and the Institute of Chinese Studies, The Chinese University of Hong Kong

The Ninth Young Scholars’ Forum in Chinese Studies will be held on 7–8 September 2023. With the theme of The Digital Turn and Chinese Studies: Data, Method and Meaning, the Forum is now open for abstract submissions to gather young scholars across the globe to explore how the advancement and application of digital technology is transforming the various sub-fields of Chinese Studies and informing new research avenues into China's past and present.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
• Digitised Sources in Chinese Studies
• Significance and Impact of the Digital Turn in Chinese Studies
• Methodological innovation engaging digital data in Chinese Studies
• Interpretative issues concerning digital data in Chinese Studies
• Digital culture and its representations in Chinese society
• Areas of digital transformation in Greater China

Eligibility:
Applicants must be:
• Ph.D. candidates, i.e. after completion of qualifying examination;
• Ph.D. graduates with no more than five years of work experience in academic positions, including postdoctoral fellows.

Application:
Applications should include an abstract of no more than 400 words and a short academic background of no more than 200 words.
