The College Mentorship Scheme was first introduced in 2012, the year when the first cohort enrolled. By now, 80 mentors, all distinguished professionals in their respective fields, have joined the Scheme to help our students. Over 220 students are either currently in the Scheme, or have completed it.
Online Briefing Session
An online briefing session was hosted by Prof Sunny WONG, Chair of the Mentorship and Internship Committee, on 27 January 2021, as a new initiative, to introduce participants to the aims, intended learning outcomes and timeline of the Scheme, and to give tips on maintaining a good relationship with mentors. Three renewed mentees, Ms DENG Rongchen, Mr LIN Zhi Yuan and Ms SHU Ting were also invited to share their fruitful experiences in the past cycle(s) of the Scheme.
Mentor-mentee Matching
This year, a total of 18 seasoned professionals from different fields agreed to be mentors of our students and to pass on their wisdom to 20 mentees studying different majors.
The mentors are like beacons, guiding lights for our students to help them understand their potentials, strengths and weaknesses, and to provide directions, support and motivation to their lives.
In view of the pandemic situation, the Launch Ceremony for the Mentorship Scheme 2020–21 would not be conducted. Borrowing the experience gained last year, the College has encouraged mentors and mentees to get acquainted with each other via online means.
