Recruitment Meetings (Term 1, 2020–21)

The Temporary Administrative Committee of the Residents' Association (RA) conducted three online meetings on 12, 18 and 20 September 2020 respectively to recruit new members for the Sixth Executive Committee of the RA. Nine Year 1 students who joined the meetings expressed interest in forming the new Committee.

Trial Activities by Potential Members of the Sixth Executive Committee

The students who were interested in forming the Sixth Executive Committee organised online detective games, ‘Joe Joe's Bizarre Adventure’, on 16 and 18 October 2020, which drew more than 20 participants. The winning teams received cash shopping coupons, book coupons or snacks as prizes.

Formation of the Sixth Executive Committee

A proposed cabinet, Cornucopia, which comprises eight Year 1 students, submitted an application for the election of the Sixth Executive Committee. An online consultation session hosted by the Election Committee of the RA was conducted on 14 January 2021. The candidates took the opportunity to introduce themselves and the proposed activities in their year plan. A number of former Executive Committee members attended the session to raise questions on Cornucopia's year plan and share their valuable experiences with them.

After the online voting period from 20 to 24 January 2021 and the vote counting session, Cornucopia was declared elected as the Sixth Executive Committee of the RA, whose term of office lasts from 1 February 2021 to 31 January 2022. The Committee members are as follows:

Online Inauguration Ceremony for Cornucopia

An online inauguration ceremony for Cornucopia was organised on 23 February 2021. A total of 30 participants attended this ceremony. On this occasion, Prof Wai-Yee CHAN, College Master, delivered a welcoming speech, while Prof WONG Suk Ying, Warden of the College Hostel, introduced different roles of the Warden-Resident Tutor Team and the RA, the special guidelines adopted in the College hostel under the pandemic, and major highlights of the Student Hostel Regulations for participants' attention.

Annual General Meeting

An Annual General Meeting of the RA was conducted online by Cornucopia on 18 February 2021. In the meeting, the participating members of the RA passed the Annual Report and the Financial Report of the Fifth Executive Committee, the Annual Report and the Financial Report of the Temporary Administrative Committee, and the year plan and the budget plan of Cornucopia, the Sixth Executive Committee.
