The College is saddened that Mr CHAN Sai Ming Simon, an alumnus from the founding cohort, passed away on 5 January 2021, after a long illness bravely borne.
Simon was admitted to CUHK as a Physics major and became a College member in 2012. He was friendly, gentle and cheerful. His pleasant characters and active participation in College events and activities earned him lasting friendships with fellow students with diverse backgrounds. While battling the illness, with enormous efforts, Simon completed his undergraduate studies and graduated in Term 2, 2017–18.
Some College teachers, staff members and alumni attended the funeral for Simon to say goodbye to him, and to send condolences to his family. Simon's kind spirit, courage and perseverance will always be remembered. |
