Summer Service ProjectThanks to the generous support from The D. H. Chen Foundation, the College Service Team has launched its service projects smoothly throughout the years and they have positively influenced the lives of both university and secondary school participants of the projects.Due to the pandemic, the summer camp and all physical activities under the summer service project in 2020 were cancelled. Instead, the Eighth College Service Team conducted a series of online tutorials to help their service targets, Secondary 4 and 5 students of HHCKLA Buddhist Ching Kok Secondary School (BCKSS), prepare for HKDSE and produced a video to introduce them to university life in Taiwan. The closing ceremony of the project was held online on 28 August 2020, where Service Team members and the BCKSS participants had casual chats and a game session. For more details about the eighth summer service project, please refer to Pages 43–44 of the Report of the Master 2020.Meetings in Term 1, 2020–21The Eighth Service Team held the following meetings in Term 1, 2020–21:

Hike and Clean Benevolence held the activity Hike and Clean at Tai Lam Chung Reservoir, Tuen Mun on 6 January 2021. There were 16 College student participants, who worked in pairs to clean up rubbish. All of them strictly followed the social distancing policy throughout the entire activity.
Book Donation
To give unwanted books a chance to serve more people and spread the joy of reading, Benevolence organised a book donation event in February 2021 to collect books from all CUHK staff and students for The Salvation Army. The donation collection points were set up in CWC canteen and CU Happy Corner from 1 to 5 February. A total of 1160 books were collected through this initiative. Those that met the needs of The Salvation Army were disinfected and donated to the organisation on 8 and 11 February.
