The purpose of the Mentorship Scheme is to broaden students' horizon of university learning and beyond, and to enrich their social exposure. In 2012–13, the College had 23 experienced and leading figures from all walks of life mentoring 33 students. These mentors have, throughout the year, shared their valuable experience and offered advice and guidance to their mentees' educational and professional development.
This year, a total of 40 mentors and 77 out of 148 College students have joined the Scheme – for a participation rate of over 50%, a number that is most encouraging. On Saturday, 30 November 2013, a total of 28 mentors and 62 mentees attended the Launch Ceremony for the Mentorship Scheme 2013–14. Dr Chung Wai Ling Margaret, a mentor of the scheme this year, shared her mentorship experience during the Ceremony. Moreover, three mentees, Miss Fung Yu Yan, Mr Shaurye Vardhan and Mr Sun Yixing spoke about their experience in the mentorship scheme.
