This year, we invited Prof. Hoyt Cleveland Tillman, Professor of Chinese History from Arizona State University to conduct two public lectures in Hong Kong in December 2016. The two lectures attracted many academics and members of the public. In the question and answer session, audiences were keen to express their views and enjoy in-depth discussion on the topic.
The first lecture was held at Cho Yiu Hall at the Chinese University on 6 December 2016. The topic of the lecture was "Evolving Unitary Executive Power in Response to Crises: A Post-9/11 America Reflection on China's Imperial System". The second lecture, "Conflicts between Filial Piety and Loyalty in Chinese Culture History," was held in the Hong Kong Museum of History on 10 December 2016.
