First Communal Dinner on College Campus

After the College relocated to the new campus, communal dining resumed, in the multi-purpose hall of the College. The first communal dinner in Term 2 was held on 7 January 2014.  Students were excited with the new venue and the new caterer.  The College Master, the Dean of students, nine College teachers joined the dinner, as did some hostel residents from other Colleges and/ or the graduate school.  The College Master ordered apricot pies for students, to echo Cardinal Newman's famous description of his first experience of college communal dining, contained in a letter to his father: 'Tell Mama there were gooseberry, raspberry and apricot pies.'
