Members of the delegation consisted of 5 Academicians: Prof. Zhu Zuoyan, Chairman of the Popularization and Publication Committee of the Academic Division, CAS; Prof. Ma Zhiming of the Institute of Applied Mathematics, CAS; Prof. Chen Hongyuan of the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Nanjing University; Prof. Fang Jingyun of College of Urban and Environmental Sciences, Peking University; Prof. Chen Yuntai, Honorary Director of School of Earth and Space Sciences, Peking University; and Researcher Professor Prof. Wang Yuefei, Vice-President of the Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science, CAS; and representatives from CAS Science China Press.

The Scholars shared their expertise in the fields of chemistry, global warming, earthquake, and mathematics during the lectures, which attracted more than one hundred attendees including academics, researchers and students. The delegation also took the opportunity to visit the School of Life Science, the Departments of Mathematics, Chemistry and Geography and Resource Management; and the Institute of Space and Earth Information Science where they received updates on the latest research development of the units.
The Chinese Academy of Sciences is one of the major strategic partners of the University. The visit strengthened the existing collaborative efforts of CUHK and fostered partnership with CAS for further development.
