Visit of Chief Executive of China Association for Science and Technology

A 14-member delegation led by Prof. Chen Xi, Vice President and Chief Executive of China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), visited the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 16 November to understand the undergraduate education and research developments of the University. Prof. Chen was joined by the delegates of CAST and representatives from Ministry of Education, Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in HKSAR and Beijing-Hong Kong Academic Exchange Centre.

Visit of Delegation led by Mayor of Shenzhen

On 26 November 2011, a 28-member delegation led by Dr. Xu Qin, Deputy Secretary of CPC Shenzhen Municipal Committee and Mayor of Shenzhen visited the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) to learn more about the University and its recent development in education and research in the mainland. Apart from the delegates from Shenzhen Government, the delegation comprised representatives from Constitutional and Mainland Affairs Bureau, and Education Bureau of HKSAR.

CUHK Delegation headed by VC Visits Guangzhou

Prof. Joseph Sung, Vice-Chancellor of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) led a 22-member delegation to visit Guangzhou on 28 November 2011 with the aim to strengthening academic collaboration with partner institutions in Guangzhou.

Chinese Academy of Sciences Lecture Series in Hong Kong: Science and China

A delegation from the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) visited the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 3 November under the "CAS Lecture Series in Hong Kong: Science and China". Co-organized by CUHK and CAS Science China Press, 5 academic lectures were held on CUHK campus.

Vice-Minister of Health Visits CUHK

Mr. Liu Qian, Vice-Minister of Health led a 6-member delegation to visit the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 29 November 2011 with the aim of getting to know the latest research development of the University in medicine.

2011 Interflow Programme for Mainland Academic Links Officers in Cooperation with the Ministry of Education

The 4th Interflow Programme for Mainland Academic Links Officers was launched on 28 November 2011. With the support from the Ministry of Education (MOE), 34 academic links executives from various mainland universities participated in the programme.

Academic Linkages with Taiwan: 6th Cross-Strait Forum on Humanities and Social Sciences Held at CUHK

The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), Nanjing University and Taiwan Central University, co-organised the "6th Cross-Strait Forum on Humanities and Social Sciences" on 19 and 20 November at CUHK. The theme of this year is "Health, Peace and Sustainability – Social Science Perspectives".

Prof. Cui delivered an academic lecture during the visit. Prof. Cui met with CUHK representatives, including Prof. Dennis Ng, Associate-Pro-Vice-Chancellor; Prof. Hsiung Ping Chen, Dean of Arts.
