| Visit of Vice-President of Shantou University | |

Prof. Jiang Gu, Vice-President of Shantou University and Dean, School of Medicine and Prof. Tinhua Huang, Professor and Director, Research Center for Reproductive Medicine, School of Medicine, Shantou University visited The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and the School of Biomedical Sciences (SBS) on 16 July 2010. Apart from the welcoming lunch hosted by Prof. Jack Cheng, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of CUHK, Prof. Gu and Prof. Huang also met with Prof. Wai-Yee Chan, SBS Director, Prof. Kenneth Lee, Managing Director of Core Labs of SBS and Prof. Richard Choy, Assistant Professor of Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology and Associate Member of Reproduction, Development and Endocrinology Program of SBS to learn about the latest development and major research areas of the School of Biomedical Sciences. After the meeting, the SBS also arranged the two guests to pay a visit to the Clinical Genetic Service Center, Department of Health, HKSAR. This visit further strengthens the links between the School and Shantou University. It also paves the way to future collaborations between the two institutions particularly in the field of biomedical sciences. |
