Charity Sale
The Service Team organised a charity sale in February and March 2019 to raise funds to help the needy while promoting a sense of belonging to the College among CWC students. A two-way tote bag featuring CWC elements was designed for sale to the College students. Funds raised were donated to support Food Angel, a food rescue and food assistance program.
The Dream Academy University Tour
In collaboration with Phoenix Intellectuals Foundation, the Service Team organised a two-hour programme for the participants of 'The Dream Academy University Tour' on 2 March 2019. The tour consisted of a half-day visit to CUHK arranged by I‧CARE Centre for Whole-person Development and a visit to CW Chu College. Around 13 secondary school students who are ethnic minorities residing in Hong Kong participated in the tour. For most of them, this was their first visit to CUHK.
They were welcomed by the Service Team with an ice-breaking session, followed by mass games. The programme was rounded off by the self-revelation session, 'Eight Important Matters in Life', which encouraged participants to start setting their personal goals. Dr Jeffrey HUI, Founding Chairperson of Phoenix Intellectuals Foundation, and a few volunteers from the foundation, also joined this part of the programme. Service Team members agreed that this activity was a meaningful opportunity for them to provide service to different people of our society.
