Through the signature tour in absolute darkness, 12 students navigated through a simulated environment of the life of a blind person — a simple task of walking straight proved immensely difficult, but for the support of a well-trained blind guide.
Participants described an after-tour sharing with the guide as mind-blowing. Never had they realized what bliss it is to be able to see. Never take anything for granted — perhaps that summarizes it the best.
Talk: Managing your MPF and Investing for your Future
For most students in Hong Kong, MPF will become a part of their working lives that span several decades from the moment they embark on their first jobs — and astute management, started early, can make a large difference in the quality of retirement. The College saw the gap between what students ought to know about MPF and how much they actually know, and invited Mr Simon Lee from the Faculty of Business Administration, CUHK, to deliver a night talk on 'Managing your MPF and Investing for your Future' on 9 March 2016, with a view to closing those gaps.
Mr Lee introduced the background, basics and strategies in MPF investment, as well as popular tools for making that a doable task. He took students some 30 years beyond graduation to show them how much they would need for a stable retirement life, and what plans are needed to achieve that goal — plans that students should know about and act upon.
