Each summer, more than 50 primary and secondary schoolprincipals and teachers from the mainland will attend a 8-day programme onmoral education at the College consisting of a series of seminars, discussionforums and visits.
The 10th Seminar on Chinese Moral Educationwas held from 4 to 11 July 2012, with "Zhongyong" as its main theme. 50participants came from various provinces in the mainland including Beijing, Tianjin, Heilongjiang, Shandong, Shaanxi, Chongqing, Sichuan, Hubei, Inner Mongolia and Guangdong. We are also glad that some past participants have also joined the programme to share their experiences and reflections.
The participants have also visited local schools and organizations to learn about the moral education scene in Hong Kong. Teachers from local schools were invited to attend the forums to introduce programmes related to moral education and the promotion of Chinese Culture. Representatives from the Robert Ho Charitable Foundation andthe Design & Cultural Studies Workshop highlighted the teaching philosophy of their "We All Livein the Forbidden City" Educational Outreach Programme by using interactive teaching tools in a lively way. Participants have found these experience deeply inspiring.
Commemorating the 10th anniversary of the Seminar, theBeijing Oriental Morality Institute and New Asia College have jointly published a set of two books on past lectures and reflections by participants and speakers in the past.
