The College selects students for the programme in the second semester every year. Successful students will travel to the USA in May/June and will work as interns in different social service agencies in partnership with the Yale students for 4 weeks. Both New Asia and Yale students will fly to Hong Kong in June/July for the second part of internship training for four more weeks in similar social service agencies. The students will submit their reports on their service experience to both institutions one month after the completion of the training in Hong Kong.
The internship training in the social services agencies is on a voluntary basis. The College subsidizes travel allowance, insurance and living allowance for the participating students.
Upon completing a four-week internship in the USA, the selected NA students this years, Mr. Hui Chi-hou Samuel (MEDU/1), Mr. Yeung Kin-long (PHPC/2) and Mr. Kwan Chi-kin (ELEDU/4) together with their Yale counterparts, returned to Hong Kong on 29 June 2012 to take part in another four-week internship on AIDS care, education and mental health..
