To help new students adapt to university life, the College has been co-hosting the Peer Mentoring Program organised by the Independent Learning Centre (ILC) since its launch in 2014. Each peer mentee receives individual support from a peer mentor, an upper-year student matched by major subjects and trained by ILC.
In Term 1, 2019–20, 17 first-year students joined the Program as mentees and they were matched with 12 mentors who were themselves former mentees in the Program.Peer mentors and mentees had regular contacts, and were monitored and supported by ILC. Peer mentors who completed the Program were each awarded a certificate. For more details about the Program, please refer to Page 29 of the Report of the Master 2019.
