College Graduation Ceremony 2018–19
|
After embarking on their new life journeys for months, the Class of 2019 had a happy reunion with College members on 7 November 2019 as they returned to their alma mater with their families and friends to attend their Graduation Ceremony.
On the occasion, Prof Wai-Yee CHAN, College Master, spoke of his life experiences that echo with the College Vision—Intimate, International, Intellectual and Involved. He is glad that he stepped out of his comfort zone to live in the US for some 30 years, when he developed an international outlook, and was committed to serving local Asian communities, instead of confining himself to an ivory tower. Being involved in the community and having intimate relationships with the needy have made his life happier and more fulfilling. Since high school, Prof CHAN has been acquiring knowledge in various subjects and never stopped learning. To move with the times, he stayed intellectual and hungry for knowledge. He was grateful for going through all these experiences, and hoped that the graduates will be inspired and enjoy the possibilities in the future as much as he did.Mr LI Chi Chuen Matthew gave his graduation speech on behalf of the Class of 2019. He reminisced about some collective experiences he shared with the other graduates in the College, such as the College orientation camp, communal dinners, High Table Dinners, quizzes of the General Education courses and CWC Festival. He hoped that in the future, he and the other graduates will be able to pay back to the College as mentors or donors. After Matthew's speech, the graduates walked up to the stage one by one and received their graduation certificates from Prof CHAN amid rounds of applause and shutter sounds. The College congratulates the Class of 2019 on their graduation, and wishes them every success in future. Please revisit the treasured moments at the College photo album.
