Study Group on 'Understanding Modern Relationship'
Mr Benjamin Li, Resident Tutor, organized a study group on 'Understanding Modern Relationship' on 25 January 2016. He introduced the book, Uncoupling, by Diane Vaughan, a sociologist, in which she analyzed the characteristics of an intimate relationship between two persons, the circumstances under which such relationship ends, and what we can do about it.
Dance Movement Therapy Workshop
Dance movement therapy aims to reconnect body and mind through expressing emotions with the body.
Miss Natalie Chan, Resident Tutor, organized a Dance Movement Therapy Workshop on the 29 March 2016. Through the guidance of Mr Joseph Ng, the facilitator, participants discovered their inner 'dancing child' and learnt to share each other's thoughts through body gestures.
International Dessert Party
Prof Wong Suk Ying, Warden of the CW Chu College Hostel, hosted a party and treated residents to Chinese and western desserts on 30 March 2016, together with two resident tutors, Mr Francis Chan and Mr Benjamin Li.
Prof Wong hoped that students could take a break from study and mingled with each other. The party was well received by residents, who enjoyed red bean soup with dumplings, mango pudding and cheese cakes.
CUHK Blood Donation Campaign 2016
On 31 March 2016, the College participated for the first time in this campaign co-organized by the Hong Kong Red Cross and the Office of Student Affairs of CUHK. Hong Kong Red Cross set up a temporary station at the College. The campaign provided a perfect chance for people to donate blood on the spot, cultivating a sense of social responsibility within the College.
