The meeting was chaired by Prof. Jack Cheng, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, CUHK. During the meeting, our School members discussed actively with the mainland guests on the possible areas for research collaboration and academic exchange. The meeting was rounded up by a farewell lunch hosted by Prof. Jack Cheng.
The follow-up visit not only enhanced the mutual understanding between investigators of our School and scientific leaders from renowned research institutes and universities in the mainland (e.g. Jiao Tong University, Shanghai; Institute of Basic Medical Sciences, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences; Key Laboratory of Stem Cell Biology, Shanghai Institutes for Biological Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences, etc.) but also sowed the seeds for future research partnership. A few of our SBS members, including Prof. Wai-Yee Chan, Prof. Woody Chan, Prof. Hsiao-Chang Chan, Prof. Christopher Cheng, and Prof. Yin Xia have already developed some initial plans for joint collaboration with their mainland counterparts.
