Miss GU Shen, Year 2 MPhil student under supervision of Prof. Wai-Yee Chan, won the Association of Chinese Geneticists in America (ACGA) Graduate Student Research Poster Award for her poster presentation on "Identification of the regulatory networks of miR-199a-2 in testicular germ cell tumors" given at the 60th Annual Meeting of the American Society of Human Genetics held in early November 2010. During the same event, Mr. Cheung Hoi-Hung Albert, a PhD graduate in 2010, was awarded the American Society of Human Genetics Outstanding Trainee Research Travel Award (Semifinalist) and also the ACGA Post-doctoral Research Award for his podium presentation on "Intronic methylation, microRNA and testicular germ cell tumor". The honours that they have received reflect the exceptional academic standard and research achievements of our postgraduate students. |
