The delegates met with Prof. Jack Cheng, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Freedom Leung, Dean of Students, Ms. Bonnie Kan, College Secretary of Shaw College, and Ms. Wing Wong, Director of Office of Academic Links (China). On behalf of the two universities, Prof. Jack Cheng and Prof. Wang Wenbin signed the memorandum of understanding on establishing the Li Dak Sum Academic Exchange Fund for Collaboration, with the aim of supporting academic and student exchange, research and training between the two parties.

In 2011, Prof. Nie Qiuhua, President of Ningda and Prof. Wang Wenbin had paid visits to CUHK respectively. This visit of senior management from Ningda again not only enhanced mutual understanding, but also established and implemented academic collaborations between the two universities.
