CUHK Vice-Chancellor Attends the 26th Universiade and the World University Presidents Forum

The Universiade 2011 was held in Shenzhen from 12-23 August. Prof. Joseph Sung, Vice-Chancellor of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) attended the opening ceremony of the Universiade and the World University Presidents Forum.

On 12 August, Prof. Joseph Sung attended the opening ceremony of the 26th Universiade held in Shenzhen Bay Sports Center. On 13-14 August, Prof. Sung participated in the University Presidents Forum. The theme was "the new mission and talents cultivating in 21st century". Discussions were also held on internationalization of higher education, adaptability of university students for economic and social development, university sports and global horizons, and construction of green campus. Prof. Sung shared views and exchanged experience with some 160 University Presidents from about 68 countries and regions in the Forum. Ms. Liu Yandong, the State Councilor, Prof. Yuan Guiren, Minister, and Prof. Hao Ping, Vice-Minister of the Ministry of Education attended the opening ceremony of the forum.
