CUHK Bridge to China Team: Project in Meile Village of Yunnan

CUHK Bridge to China Team is a university volunteering team formed under this Centre with the support and guidance from Wu Zhi Qiao (Bridge to China) Charitable Foundation.  Since 2009, the team has participated and organised numerous investigation trips on villages, bridge building projects and public health programmes with the help of students.

Led by a worker of this Centre, eight members of the CUHK Bridge to China Team will go on a trip to Meile Village, Lijiang, Yunnan on 3-11 August of this year to build a footbridge for the residents, together with members of the "Wu Zhi Qiao Student Team" of The University of Hong Kong, Tongji University, and Kunming University of Science and Technology.  They will also construct an incinerator, erect awnings and install solar street lights there.  Besides, they have already planned to decorate the walls of a primary school to create a more pleasant environment for the village children.

For better preparation of the Meile Village project, partial members of the "Wu Zhi Qiao Student Team" of the four universities conducted pre-trip investigation in December of last year and in May of this year.  On-site information pertaining to the village's environmental and livelihood condition was successfully collected.
