Prof. Alfred S.L. Cheng, Associate Professor of the School, has been awarded the "Most Promising Young Researcher Award 2014" by the Food and Health Bureau, HKSAR, for his research project "Elucidating gene regulatory networks of HBx isolated from novel HBV subgenotype/mutants associated with increased risk of hepatocellular carcinoma".
The award is presented to researchers in recognition of their outstanding performance in research and for making significant impacts on studies related to health policies and clinical practice. Prof. Cheng received the award at The Health Research Symposium 2014 held on 15 November 2014. The corresponding press release of the symposium and the list of awardees can be found HERE.
