Summer Service Project
With generous support from The D. H. Chen Foundation, the College Service Team has implemented its annual summer service projects smoothly throughout the years and they have positively influenced the life of both university and secondary school participants of the projects.
In the summer service project in 2018, HHCKLA Buddhist Ching Kok Secondary School (BCKSS), as recommended by The D. H. Chen Foundation, is regarded as a new service target and a participating school for that year's summer programme, in addition to Po Leung Kuk CW Chu College (PLKCWC).
Within the project, the keynote event is a summer camp of three days and two nights, in this (the sixth) cycle held from 15 to 17 July 2018, at the Breakthrough Youth Village in Shatin.
The camp was preceded by an Orientation Day for the secondary school students on 23 June 2018 and a training session on 11 July 2018 for our Service Team, and rounded off in September with a guided tour around CUHK and the Closing Ceremony.
The Ceremony was attended by around 50 students of PLKCWC and BCKSS, their Principals and teachers, as well as representatives of The D. H. Chen Foundation. They listened to participants' sharing, and had a casual tea. College teachers and staff were also present to witness their joy.

After the summer service project, two more activities were held by Servistar for the secondary school participants of the project:
Visit to the Jockey Club Life Journey Centre
Servistar and the participating secondary school students joined an impactful 60-minute journey organised by the Jockey Club Life Journey Centre on 29 September 2018. Through experiential learning and interactions, participants had a chance to re-think what 'young' and 'old' meant to them. The activity was followed by a debriefing session conducted by life educators with social work background.
Mentorship Tea Gathering
Servistar organised a casual tea gathering on 27 October 2018, for the secondary school participants to meet with mentors from different job fields who could provide professional advice and guidance on future career development.
A survey was conducted by Servistar among the secondary school participants during the summer camp regarding their preferred career paths. Based on its results, The D. H. Chen Foundation invited some mentors to carry out a sharing session with the students, so that they can have a glimpse of different job fields and better prepare themselves for entering fields they were interested in.
Membership of the Seventh Service Team
After the recruitment activities held in September 2018, a new CW Chu College Service Team was formed, comprising 11 local and six non-local first-year students. Members include:
